Felicity and David Brown are the Social Media ‘tag team’ behind the multi award-winning holiday business Hoe Grange Holidays. They fit in all the posts, likes, shares, DMs and hashtags between taking bookings, looking after guests and cleaning Glamping Pods/Log Cabins.

When I say ‘tag team’ I mean it quite literally (and with the pun intended)! They share the social workload, David favouring Facebook and Felicity manages the Twitter account, ensuring that the ‘tone of voice’ is always friendly, fun and upbeat.

Posting regularly is important to their business, in order to capture the changing landscapes of the beautiful rolling hills of Derbyshire, and to entice guests with the farming calendar events such as live lambing, sheep shearing and the tradition of well dressings.

Google + is taken advantage of to boost SEO, and Pinterest is added to the social marketing mix to promote the trendy glamping pods to potential guests. You Tube is also being explored with mini 30 second videos to showcase the fun atmosphere on site, with ‘Counting Sheep’ and ‘Confused Ducklings’ that give a glimpse into live at Hoe Grange.

Touchpoints Marketing carried out a full social media review over the phone and then spent 2 hours on site with Felicity and David looking deeper into how Instagram, email marketing and Hootsuite could be implemented to boost incoming links to the website, encourage previous guests to return and to free up time by scheduling posts once a week.

All the relevant (and current) social media boxes are being ticked. Felicity and David also keep their ears to the ground as these platforms develop, change tactics and if new platforms arise (very likely) they’ll be on the case like ducks to water!
